The Spiders from Mars Part 1

The Ziggy Stardust album released in 1972
All of you have probably heard of David Bowie. He made great music back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's and is still making new music today. I may talk about his new music in a later post, but for now, I'm here to talk about his Ziggy Stardust era.

To start, Ziggy Stardust is one of David Bowie's personas and toured as Ziggy with his band the Spiders From Mars for part of the 70's.

The album depicts the life of Ziggy Stardust, a guitar playing alien on Earth. It's a really amazing album. Go listen to it right now.

This is just the start of picking this album apart. Be sure to visit later to hear songs from the album, see pictures from the Ziggy Stardust era, learn some interesting facts about the band and the album, and much more.
David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust) and Mick Ronson.
Ronson is a fantastic guitarist by the way.

This is the back cover of the album.
At the bottom it says "to be played at maximum volume."

George Thorogood - Bad To The Bone

I really like George Thorogood for many reasons. For one, the guitar in his songs always sound great. Also, I like his array of different instruments instead of just a guitar, drums, and a bass. Also, I met him. I'll tell you how.

WARNING: True story ahead. Those who do not fair well with story telling please refrain from reading.

So I went to a George Thorogood concert. Being my first time seeing him live, I didn't know what to expect. I waited outside since I was there an hour early. I saw a door leading backstage to George's room with a line in front of it filled with people with George Thorogood brand everything. I mean EVERYTHING, George Thorogood shirts, hats, tattoos, lots of albums, stickers, coasters, etc. I watched and soon realized that they had special passes and were going to meet George Thorogood. I thought about how cool that would be to do. To meet George Thorogood. Then suddenly, two security guys came up to me and asked if I was going to the George Thorogood concert. Me, relieved that I wasn't getting arrested, answered yes. Then they told me to come with them. I was meeting George Thorogood. The experience was incredibly awesome and I saved over 100 dollars. Also, George is extremely nice (as long as you're nice to him) and was fun to be with. So I would chalk up this event to be in my top ten list. It was great. The concert was awesome too.

And here's a live video of Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" to end things for today. Enjoy!

One of the Greatest Queen Songs Ever.

I found this amazing Queen song one day while looking through their album Made In Heaven released in 1995. There's some pretty cool stuff in there, but I want to focus on my favorite one. I's called "Yeah". Check it out below:
Yeah. As you can see this song is definitely pretty amazing. Oh, and if you want, you can go buy the MP3 for 99 cents!

Peter Criss's New Autobiography about KISS and More

Last week I picked up my new book I got as a gift. The book was titled Makeup to Breakup: My Life In and Out of KISS. It is an extremely truthful biography that is filled with many surprising realities. I find it very entertaining but also a slow read. Also, I am normally a slow reader so you fast readers out there could probably read it real quick. Peter goes through the start of his life, to KISS, to where he is now. He also likes cats! Overall, I would suggest this book to anyone who likes KISS or Peter Criss.
