Over 2,000 Views! Woo-hoo!

My blog has finally made it to 2,000 views! This is a big accomplishment for me.
This calls for a fitting picture of Freddie Mercury.
Victory. Yes.

Closing The Olympics- British Style

I'm glad that I watched the London Olympics Closing Ceremony yesterday because it was pretty cool.  I was glad to see that Freddie Mercury made yet another appearance in the closing ceremony as well as an epic guitar solo from Brian May himself.
Brian May with his awesome guitar solo.

After the solo, Brian May and Roger Taylor went into one of Queen's most famous songs, We Will Rock You. Sadly, instead of Adam Lambert or the Freddie Mercury hologram playing, pop singer Jessie J sang instead and my reaction to that was much like this:
I used a sensor bleep for the sake of keeping this stuff family friendly.
Here's what Freddie looked like at the closing ceremony.
Here's a video of the song. I couldn't find the solo or a better version because of copyright reasons.
I was sad to hear the song ruined by Jessie J, but it was still cool.
At the end, there was another performance from The Who. They played Baba O' Reilly and My Generation. It was really cool to watch and summed up the closing ceremony nicely.
I mean, who's more British than The Who? I'll tell you who. The Who of course!
Now I could go on and on about all the other cool stuff like John Lennon and David Bowie and stuff, but that will make it very long so I'm going to end right here with this octopus.
Oh, and before I forget, for all of you Monty Python fans out there, there was a little segment with Monty Python stuff. It was pretty fun to watch.
There was also a giant octopus.

All Aboard The Crazy Train!

I'm actually quite surprised that I haven't covered the excellence of the song Crazy Train yet. Well, it's a song by Ozzy Osbourne from the 1980 album Blizzard of Ozz. It's probably one of Ozzy Osbourne's most popular songs. It was definitely one of his hits though. Another hit (or technically a single) from this album was Mr. Crowley.
Personally, I don't like the album cover. I think it's scary or creepy in a way.
This album was released shortly before Randy Rhoads death. He was the guitarist for Ozzy and his band. He was a really great guitarist too.
I have a live performance of Crazy Train which is performed by (obviously) Ozzy Osbourne and his band which includes Randy Rhoads. Check it out below.

It's pretty cool seeing Randy Rhoads playing that awesome solo. I hope you guys liked it!

The London Olympics- The Opening

I know the opening to the Olympics was quite a while ago, but I haven't thought to write about it until now. I feel great that a lot of great classic rock songs were featured in the Opening Ceremony in London including Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, She Loves You by The Beatles and My Generation by The Who (Of course they were all British songs because the ceremony was in London). I loved all the fireworks too. The end was also cool because Paul McCartney (who was part of The Beatles) sang and performed the ending to two songs, Hey Jude and The End. All in all, it was a great Opening Ceremony.
During the fireworks, they also played Pink Floyd's Eclipse.
And here's Paul McCartney for all of you guys who didn't believe me.
We also have Queen here because they are my favorite band and  my favorite song by them was played in the Opening Ceremony. This is a 70's photo of them because they wrote the song Bohemian Rhapsody in the 70's.

Weird Wednesday 3

Recently, I watched the Weird Al movie UHF. I thought that instead of posting one of Weird Al's music videos I could talk about this instead. The movie is basically a huge parody of many different movies such as Rambo and Gone With The Wind. The basis is about George Newman (played by Weird Al himself) who gets his own rundown TV station. There are plenty of cheesy moments and funny commercials that will make you laugh real hard. I couldn't stop laughing when I first watched it. What I liked about the movie was that, like his music, Weird Al wrote the movie himself (probably with some help of course though, but who wouldn't need help making a movie?).
I have a small scene from the movie below so you guys who haven't seen it can get a small taste of what the movie is like.
